Man arrested after reports of person with knife in Gloucester

A 23 year-old man has been arrested after a report that a man had been seen carrying a large knife in a residential Gloucester street on Thursday.

Armed officers were deployed to the Tredworth Road area of Gloucester at around 4pm after a call from the public.

Inspector James O’Neill, from Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This was obviously an alarming incident. Officers were quickly on the scene and were able to make an arrest.

"We would like to reassure the public that we will not tolerate this type of behaviour. We will act swiftly to apprehend anyone who creates fear among the people who live and work in our communities."
