Man in his 80s dies following crash in Cirencester

Police are asking for witnesses or dashcam footage

A man in his 80s has died following a crash involving a Volkswagen Polo and a Triumph Thruxton motorcycle in Cirencester.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Watermoor Way shortly before 2.40pm on Monday, 2nd March.

The driver of the Volkswagen Polo, who was from Cirencester, was treated by paramedics but later succumbed to his injuries.

The man's next of kin have been informed.

The rider of the motorcycle was treated by paramedics but did not suffer any serious injuries.

Several roads were temporarily closed for an investigation but have since reopened.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Information can be submitted online using the police form, quoting incident 271 of 2nd March.
