The 62-year-old man was found in a ditch on Old Gloucester Road in Staverton on Sunday, 3rd May, around 1.20pm.

Having formally identified the body, Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed it belongs to Reed, who was reported missing from the Staverton area on Tuesday, 28th April.

He was last seen late at night on Saturday, 25th April, and is believed to have been riding a blue woman’s Dutch style bike, which remains unaccounted for.

A post-mortem examination has revealed unexplained injuries, prompting officers to treat the death as unexplained.

Andy Reed's family has been informed and supported by specially trained officers.

Detectives from various teams, including the Specialist Operations and Major Crime Investigation Team, conducted searches in the Staverton area on 10th May.

Detective Inspector Paula Hannaford urged the public, “I am appealing to anyone with any information which might help us piece together what happened to Andy.”

She encourages those with possible dashcam or CCTV footage from Old Gloucester Road between 25th April and 3rd May to step forward.

Andy was last seen wearing a blue body warmer over a khaki green jumper, brown cords, and carrying a black rucksack.
