A417 between Cirencester and Gloucester closed after two cars collide
Police expect the road to be closed for some time.
Police have closed several roads near the A417 in Birdlip after a serious collision this morning.
Emergency services were called at around 9.40am to reports that two cars had collided with each other on the Birdlip bypass.
The A417 has been closed in both directions between Cirencester and Gloucester. There are also road closures in place from the slip road of the M5 junction 11A Brockworth interchange, the B4070 Buckholt Road junction and the Twelve Bells junction while emergency services remain at the scene.
Police say they expect these closures to remain in place for several hours. Motorists are advised to plan their route in advance and avoid the area.
