Woman assaulted in Gloucester pub

A woman has sustained numerous injuries following an assault in Gloucester.

Police were called with a report that an assault had taken place inside the Coach and Horses pub on St Catherine Street at around 12.20am on Sunday 7 September.

It was reported that the victim, a woman in her 50s, was hit in the head by another woman sustaining a head, back and wrist injury.

Following enquiries at the scene, a 39-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of common assault.

She was subsequently released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Investigating officers are continuing to establish what happened and are keen to hear from anyone who was in the pub at the time.

Anyone who has mobile phone footage which they believe to be relevant is also asked to make contact.
