Man arrested after assaulting two people in Gloucester
The 25-year-old had also been reported repeatedly kicking cars in Barton
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of assaulting two people in Gloucester on Tuesday morning, 28 January.
Officers received a report at around 10.35am that a man had been kicking and punching cars on Park Road, Barton.
A woman got out of her vehicle to challenge him after he repeatedly hit it. He then punched her in the face.
A further report came into officers at 11am that a man matching the same description had attempted to steal a phone from another man on All Saints Road.
The victim had resisted and was also punched in the face.
A 25-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of assault, assaulting a police officer, criminal damage and possession of cannabis. He has been released on bail and enquiries are continuing.
Inspector Ash Gardner, from Gloucester Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We received a number of reports yesterday morning of a man acting in an aggressive manner.
“Officers were quickly on the scene and were able to make an arrest.
“We would like to reassure the community of Barton and Tredworth that we will not tolerate this type of behaviour.
“We will act swiftly to apprehend anyone who creates fear among the people who live and work in our communities.”
