Gloucestershire hospice grateful to receive Government funding
Longfield Community Hospice will receive over £50,000 from the Government.
Longfield Community Hospice in Stroud is one of over 170 hospices in the country receiving funding from the government.
The hospice will receive £50,229 in funds.
£25million has been distributed between hospices to boost improvement to facilities.
It's in a bid to improve end-of-life care in England and make sure people receive compassionate care in comfortable, dignified surroundings.
The funding will go towards modernising facilities, improving IT systems and ensuring patients receive the highest quality care.
A further £75 million will be available from April as part of the largest investment in hospices in a generation.
CEO of Longfield Community Hospice, Clare Davis, said in a statement:
“In light of the hospice sector along with the whole charity sector being under immense financial pressures, any additional funds will be received gratefully.
“Our challenge will be working with the restrictions around how the funding can be used, ensuring that we use those funds in the best way possible, recognising that we will continue to face challenges with staffing and running costs.”
