A woman from Gloucester has been charged with manslaughter after the death of an 87-year-old woman.
Officers were called to Birmingham New Street Railway station on morning of 19 November 2024 after reports of an assault.
The British Transport Police say Dorothy Chiles was found with serious injuries and taken to hospital.
She underwent surgery for a fractured hip and was discharged on 2nd December 2024 but died from her injuries at home on 27th December.
Charlie Lane, from Marlborough Road, Gloucester, is charged with manslaughter and racially aggravated public order.
She had been released on Bail to appear before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on 30th April.
In a statement released by police after her death, Ms Chiles’s family said she was “a lively, outgoing lady whose energy was contagious”.
They had said: “Dorothy was more than a mom, grandmother and great-grandmother — she was a best friend, a guiding light, and a source of endless joy.”
