Blue Monday is supposedly the most depressing day of the year and in an attempt to put a more positive stance on the day, Gloucester Samaritans have turned it into ‘Brew Monday’.

It’s in an aim to encourage people to open up and have a talk over a brew with someone if they are struggling.

The Gloucester Branch has teamed up with Great Western Railway and will be handing out teabags to commuters at Gloucester Train Station.

They will then board a train to Swindon and offer support and chats to people along the way.

Blue Monday is typically the day of the year where people will start to receive their bills before their January payday and can lead to many people feeling overwhelmed.

Susan from the Gloucester Samaritans also contributed it to the time of year and said: "it's dark its dismal and things just get on top of people"

They encourage anyone who is struggling to reach out for support.
