Gloucester man remanded on rape charge awaiting court hearing

Police continue to seek witnesses and information

A 41-year-old man has been charged with rape following an incident in Gloucester.

He appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody.

Anachi Thomas is scheduled to appear before Gloucester Crown Court on 22nd July.

The charge stems from a reported assault that occurred on 21st June at around 10.30pm on Stroud Road.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen a man and a woman walking from Tredworth to Stroud Road between 9pm and 10.30pm to come forward with information.

Officers are also calling for relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.

Preliminary investigations suggest Anachi and the alleged victim are known to each other.
