Ariel Dempsey's cheese was left in a fridge when she won the race

The winner of one of the races at the Gloucestershire cheese rolling competition has picked up her cheese - one week later.
Ariel Dempsey from Michigan in the United States reached the event at Cooper's Hill with just minutes to go until the first downhill race on May 26th.
Deciding to throw her hat in the ring, she left her belongings on the top of the hill before hurtling down the steep hill, after racing to the area from Oxford.
While not winning the downhill race, she instead opted to compete in the uphill race, eventually winning the race.
However, upon reaching the top, it was discovered that she would not be able to pick up her prize - a 3kg wheel of Double Gloucester cheese.
Instead, the 33-year-old PhD student attended Cooper's Hill on Monday (June 2nd) - one week after her win - to be formally presented with her prize by master of ceremonies Jem Wakeman.
It was later reported that she was unable to receive the prize due to the wheel being kept in a volunteer's fridge at the time of the race.
In a post on social media, the organisers of the annual festival said: "Better late then never, they say!"
