The funeral of a 102-year-old D-Day veteran takes place today (5/8).

Alan 'Mac' McQuillin, from Kemble - on the Gloucestershire-Wiltshire border - passed away last month - and friends and family will come together later to remember him.

He joined the RAF in 1941 and was known locally as "Britain's oldest paperboy"... delivering papers until his nineties.

He was 21 years old at the time of D-Day, all the way back in June 1944, and served in the RAF Servicing Commando 3120 unit.

On the anniversary of VE Day earlier this year, he was the guest of honour, and described by Cotswold District Council as 'a living link to one of the most momentous moments in living history'.
