Gloucester’s Hartpury College and university say they’re delighted to see so many of their alumni representing England in this year’s Women’s Rugby World Cup final.

20 of the women making up England’s national team attended Hartpury, including the captain, Zoe Aldcroft.

Director of elite sport at Hartpury, Tom Radcliffe says the team are inspiring current and future students: “We’ve had recent open days where students have come to Hartpury and expressed an interest in women’s rugby and women’s sport and recognise all the case studies and role models of the players that have gone through this system.

"They’re inspired, it showcases Hartpury in a really good light.”

He added: “We’re obviously absolutely delighted and so proud of their achievements.

“All the players in that team are role models for our students looking to come to Hartpury and they’re an inspiration for the next generation of women’s rugby players that will go through our pathway.”

England face Canada in the final later this afternoon.
