Police are turning to the public for help after a serious crash in the Forest of Dean left a woman with severe injuries.

A silver Mercedes CLS 320 collided with a pedestrian on a driveway along Coalway Road, Coalway at around 5.30pm on Sunday 5th July 2026.

The victim, a woman in her 20s from Lydney, sustained critical injuries to her body and head.

She was transported to Southmead Hospital in Bristol and remains in a serious condition.

In connection with the incident, officers arrested the car's driver—a local woman—for suspected dangerous driving, among other offences including driving with a revoked licence and under the influence of cocaine and other drugs.

The driver has been released on bail as investigations continue.

Police are appealing for anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that captures the Mercedes travelling from Lydney to Coalway before the accident occurred.

Additionally, authorities are keen to hear from anyone who might have further information but hasn’t yet reached out.

Residents are urged to provide relevant details by contacting Gloucestershire Police online, referencing occurrence 53260055165, or by calling 101.
