Cheltenham Town say they're investigating a post that appeared on their X account (formerly Twitter) saying they believe they've been hacked.

The club has apoligised saying they are sorry for any offence that may have been caused by the post and that it did not come from any of the club officials.

They said in a statement that they have taken the relevant security measures to prevent this happening again.

Their statement on X reads:

‘ We’re currently investigating a post that was reposted on the Club’s X account earlier this evening.

Once notified the post was deleted immediately. This did not come from any official source at the Club. We believe our account had been hacked and we’ve since taken the necessary security measures.

We apologise for any offence caused.’
