Cheltenham Town appoint James Watts new Managing Director
He's currently working a notice period at Swindon Town
Cheltenham Town Football Club has announced James Watts as its new Managing Director.
Currently serving his notice period at Swindon Town, Watts is set to begin his role at Cheltenham Town's EV Charger Points Stadium in mid-June.
Watts brings extensive experience in football management, having held senior positions at Hereford FC, Newport County, and Swindon Town.
In his new capacity, he will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, supporting revenue growth, and contributing to the club's long-term development.
Mike Garlick, owner and majority shareholder of Cheltenham Town, praised Watts' appointment, saying, "We conducted a thorough recruitment process and James was the standout candidate."
He highlighted Watts' understanding of commercial aspects, communication, and management skills as vital to the club's future.
Watts expressed enthusiasm for his new role, stating, "I am delighted to be joining Cheltenham Town Football Club. This is a club on the up and it is an exciting time to be joining."
