A teenage boy was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in the Churchdown area of Gloucester yesterday evening (31st May).

Police were called to Churchdown Skatepark, near Parton Road, following reports that a group of around six or seven young males had assaulted a man and stolen his e-bike.

Witnesses told police that the group, who were wearing balaclavas, were armed with batons which they used to strike the victim.

Another male armed with a large barbecue fork attempted to stab the victim with it, police were told.

Some of the males in the group, who were also riding e-bikes, then rode over the man as he was on the ground while another male made off on the victim’s e-bike in the direction of Staverton Flying School.

The teenage boy who was arrested is aged 17, and has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.

The victim, who sustained minor injuries and a concussion, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to be assessed.

He has since been discharged and reunited with his e-bike.

Officers conducted searches of the area and located one of the males riding an e-bike that matched the description of the one that had been stolen.
