Cheltenham man banned from area of town after stealing bikes

A man from Cheltenham has been ordered to not enter an area of the town after stealing bikes worth thousands of pounds.
It's part of a criminal behavioural order handed to 51-year-old Jason Turner from Painswick Road, who was given it by the judge at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on Thursday 10 April.
Police say it was granted after magistrates heard reports of Turner's convictions for stealing bikes worth thousands of pounds from Bath Road in November 2024 and February 2025.
Under the order, he is banned from entering Bath Road between the junctions of Norwood Road and Suffolk Road.
He is also banned from possessing any bicycle without having either proof of ownership or proof of permission to use it.
The order lasts for three years and Turner could face arrest if he breaks any of its provisions.
PC Nigel Crown, from Cheltenham Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "Turner has repeatedly targeted bicycles in this area of the town and stolen them.
"This Criminal Behaviour Order granted by the court is a tool to curtail his behaviour.
"It will also send a clear message to Turner that the police will not tolerate such activity."
Anyone who witnesses Turner breaching the order is asked to contact police on 101.
