Cheltenham Literature festival returns
The world's oldest literature festival is held in Montpelier Gardens and in venues across Cheltenham
The worlds oldest literature festival gets underway today. The festival began in 1949 and has recently marked its 75th anniversary.
The star-studded line-up includes Prue Leith, Richard Osman and Joe Marler as well as a whole host of new and emerging authors.
The festival is held in Montpelier Gardens and in venues across Cheltenham.
Many of the events are free to attend and organisers encourage visitors to give something new a chance.
Nicola Tuxworth is the festival's Head of Programming. She said there is something for everyone at this years festival.
She said, ''I always say to people if you've never been before, you can have a blind date with an event, just close your eyes and put your finger on something in the brochure and go!''
''Sometimes its a glimpse into a world you've never thought about and you come away thinking, that's just such an amazing story!''
The festival is on from the 9th-18th October.
