A dog has been saved from a tent that had been set alight next to a supermarket in Cheltenham.

Officers from Gloucestershire Police are looking into an incident that took place in a tent next to the Tesco Express on High Street in the town.

During the incident, which took place around 3:15am on March 30th, the tent was set on fire, requiring a dog to be rescued - thanks to a member of the public. The dog escaped unharmed.

The member of the public also moved the tent further away from the building to stop the fire from spreading any further. The fire was later put out with water.

Investigations are ongoing since the incident took place, with officers now asking anyone who may have seen the man around the area at the time of the attack to get in touch.

Police are asking anyone who may know the men in the CCTV footage to get in touch.

Police are also asking for anyone who may have been in the area and interacted with the man to get in touch as soon as possible, as well as any CCTV footage of the area.

Those who may be able to help in the investigation can get in touch by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 58 from March 30th.
