Body found in search for man who entered water near Gloucester Docks
Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious at this time
A body has been found in the search for a man who entered the River Severn near Gloucester Docks this morning (November 20).
Gloucestershire Police say they were called at around 10:20am after a report that a man had entered the water near the Old Prison and not resurfaced.
Officers assisted by The National Police Air Service, Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service carried out the search for the man.
Police have now confirmed that a body has been recovered from the river near Hempsted.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said:
"Formal identification has not yet taken place.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time."
