Attempted robbery of child in Gloucester prompts search for witnesses
Police release image of suspect's e-bike
Police are seeking witnesses after an attempted robbery took place in Gloucester on Stroud Road near St Barnabus Church last month.
It was reported that at approximately 4.25pm on Tuesday 10th March, an unknown male riding a Surron e-bike approached an 11-year-old girl and attempted to steal her mobile phone.
During the encounter, the male knocked the girl over, causing bruising to her arms and legs, and smashed her phone as it hit the ground.
Eyewitnesses described the suspect as wearing an all-black outfit along with a black balaclava and helmet.
His e-bike was identified as having a silver frame and large black wheels.
Following the incident, the rider departed the area without attending to the girl’s wellbeing.
To aid the investigation, police have released an image of the suspect riding the Surron e-bike.
While recognising that the image is not the clearest, officials hope it might help someone identify the e-bike or its owner.
Officers involved in the investigation have already conducted several enquiries and are now appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity during the incident or anyone who possesses relevant CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage to contact the police.
