An appeal has been launched by Gloucestershire Police after a woman was reportedly punched in the face while she was standing on her driveway.

We're told the incident happened in Brimscombe between 5.30am and 6am on Monday 24 March.

This all comes after a woman living in the village had let her dog into the back garden.

She heard it yelp and, going to the front of the house, discovered a man on her driveway.

We're told he then punched her in the face before jumping over her gate and running off.

The assault resulted in a minor injury to the woman's eye.

Officers told us: "The man was described as being white, about 5ft 9ins in height and of a slim build. He was dressed in black and his face was covered.

"Officers have conducted house-to-house enquiries and have been reviewing CCTV and ring doorbell footage.

"They are now appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who has any additional information to come forward.

"They would also like to speak to anybody who has CCTV or dashcam footage which they believe to be relevant and who has not already spoken to police."

Anybody with information is asked to complete the police's online form quoting incident number 103 of 24 March.
