Police are appealing for information after a man was reportedly assaulted by another man in a road rage incident in Gloucester.

The reported incident occurred at around 8:15 pm on 28th March at the Barnett Way Roundabout, Barnwood, when a driver in a white van undertook a silver Kia SUV as both vehicles approached traffic lights on Corinium Avenue.

Upon stopping at the lights, both drivers exited their vehicles, leading to an altercation during which the van driver allegedly punched the Kia driver, a man in his 50s, knocking him out.

Police say the van driver then got back into his vehicle and drove off.

The Kia driver suffered a broken nose and concussion and was treated at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

He has been discharged.

An 18-year-old man from the Tewkesbury area has been arrested on suspicion of assault but has been released under investigation.

Police are continuing their enquiries into the incident and would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the events leading up to or during the incident or who has relevant dashcam footage.
