A417 Missing Link work sees traffic switching onto new temporary route
Drivers are being urged to plan ahead
Starting from 29th June, traffic on the A417 between Gloucester and Cirencester will be redirected to a new temporary route due to roadworks.
The diversion runs from the A46 Brockworth interchange to the former Cowley roundabout and will last for at least five weeks as National Highways progresses with constructing the new road.
Significant delays are anticipated, so motorists are advised to allocate extra travel time and consider alternative routes, especially during peak hours.
Overnight closures will take place from 25th to 28th June to facilitate the transition to the temporary route.
Drivers are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience during this period.
Efforts to Minimise Disruption
Gloucestershire County Council acknowledged the potential frustration caused by overlapping roadworks.
They assured the public that efforts are being made to coordinate activities with National Highways to minimise disruption.
