An investigation is underway after 6000 litres of petrol was stolen from a construction site near Cheltenham over the late May bank holiday weekend.

Gloucestershire Police say the petrol was syphoned from plant vehicles assisting with the construction at junction 10 of the M5.

The theft is believed to have taken place over the late May Bank Holiday, between 5pm on Friday 23 May and 7am on Tuesday 26 May after unknown offenders broke into the secure compound near Boddington.

Officers have carried out CCTV checks and forensic investigations and are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
