A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital after sustaining injuries during a serious assault at Colliston Park in Dalbeattie.

The event occurred around 10.40pm on Saturday, 8th August, 2026, during Dalbeattie Civic Day.

Emergency services responded to reports of a disturbance involving a group of people.

Constable Jordan Jamieson emphasised the importance of gathering more details to comprehend the full circumstances surrounding the incident:

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this incident and how the victim came about his injuries.”

The busy nature of Dalbeattie Civic Day means officers believe there might have been witnesses who can provide valuable insights into the incident.

“We are appealing to anyone who saw anything which may be able to assist our investigation to contact us. In addition, anyone who has footage on their mobile phone which may have captured the disturbance is asked to get in touch,” Constable Jordan Jamieson said.
