Two 20-year-olds caught near Beattock with cannabis worth £90,000
The discovery followed a brief attempt to flee from police
Two 20-year-old men were apprehended after officers discovered herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of £90,000 in their car on Tuesday, 4th August 2026.
Lockerbie Road Policing officers initially stopped the Daihatsu Sirion on the motorway near Beattock in the afternoon.
While talking with the occupants, the officers detected the unmistakable smell of cannabis emanating from the vehicle.
Upon questioning, the driver and passenger decided to flee the scene.
Members of the public and Cumbria Constabulary assisted in their swift apprehension.
Both individuals have now been charged with multiple offences.
