Two arrested after stabbing in Plymouth

Devon and Cornwall Police say there is no wider threat to the public, after reports of a fight in Plymouth.

Officers were called to the scene earlier this week, arresting two people.

They've since been bailed.

In a statement, they said: "Police were called at 7.35pm on Tuesday 15 April following a report of an altercation between residents at a property in Salisbury Road, Plymouth.

"Officers attended and located a male in Regent Street. A second male was located in Salisbury Road with an arm injury.

"A man in his 50s from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was taken to hospital to be checked over. He has been released on bail until 30 April pending further enquiries.

"A man in his 20s from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of affray. He was taken to hospital for treatment for a suspected stab wound which was not life-threatening. He has been released on bail until 19 May pending further enquiries.

"Both parties are believed to be known to each other and there is no wider threat to the public."
