The roofs of two homes in Totnes have been completely destroyed in a fire.
Both were also fully damaged by water.
Crews were called to tackle the blaze yesterday (18 June), with the cause deemed to be accidental.
Control immediately mobilised three appliances and a supporting officer to attend.
Once on scene, crews immediately requested 'Make Pumps 5' control sent an additional 2 fire engines and a water carrier appliance. An Aerial Ladder Platform
A short while later, we're told that crews then requested 'Make Pumps 8' with control sending an additional 3 Fire Engines alongside support appliances.
In their final update at 23:10, they confirmed: "This fire involved 2 domestic properties measuring 20m x 40m.
"Both roof spaces 100% damaged by fire and heat, both properties 100% by water.
"In total, crews used 6 breathing apparatus, 2 attack jets, 4 hose reel jets, 1 aerial ladder platform, 2 water bowsers, 4 thermal imaging cameras, 1 135 ladder and gas monitors.
"Water was supplied to incident with the use of 3 hydrants. At the height of the incident, the incident was split into 5 sectors.
"Crews are gathering up the last of the equipment before returning to stations. 1 fire appliance will return in the morning to complete a revisit and carry out community engagement.
"This fire was confirmed as accidental."
