Tiverton teen banned from local shops due to anti-social behaviour
Courts issue six-month injunction following repeated incidents
A 14-year-old boy from Tiverton has been served a six-month Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI) after a series of incidents in the town centre.
Exeter Magistrates’ Court granted the injunction, following evidence presented by the Tiverton Neighbourhood Policing team related to ongoing criminal acts and anti-social behaviour.
PCSO Selina Gray, who applied for the ASBI, said, "This boy has been known to us since 2024 and has been involved in 80 incidents including anti-social behaviour, criminal damage, theft and shop theft since January alone."
The ASBI prohibits the teenager from entering Tesco or Lidl stores on Blundells Road and requires him to leave any shop when asked by staff or officers.
He is also required to avoid using threatening language or behavior that could cause alarm or distress.
PCSO Gray stated, "At this time, we are not publicly naming this child, but we would like to reassure the community that these conditions will be closely and directly monitored by us."
