Tiverton motorcycle crash leaves young man in critical condition

Appeal for information following a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a truck

Police in Tiverton are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision that resulted in critical injuries to a young motorcyclist.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 2nd May, at 4.15pm on Newport Street at the junction with St Peter Street.

Emergency services responded to a crash involving a black Yamaha motorcycle and a white Ford Transit box truck.

Two local males, both on the motorcycle, were injured in the collision.

An 18-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition in hospital.

A 17-year-old boy was also admitted to the hospital with serious injuries, though these are not considered life-threatening.

Roads Closure and Investigation

Roads policing officers closed the road until 11.50pm to examine the scene and recover the vehicles.

They are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are seeking information from any witnesses.

Appeal for Witnesses

Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or might have relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
