Three people rescued from boat stuck in quicksand off Devon coast

Three people have been rescued from quicksand after their boat became trapped, prompting a joint operation from the Fire Service and Coastguard.

Fire Control received a call from the Coastguard about the situation just after 1am today (Friday 3rd July).,

Multiple resources were then dispatched to the scene off the coast at Kingsbridge.

Crews utilised two mud mats to safely reach and rescue the individuals on board, successfully bringing them to dry land.

All three individuals are now safe following the coordinated effort which lasted around three hours.
