Three men have been arrested after reports of a man with a knife in Plymouth this afternoon (January 12).

Officers were called to Stonehouse Street at around 12.35pm and it was further reported that a man had been involved in an altercation with a group and had been assaulted.

Police say one person sustained minor injuries.

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in police custody while investigations continue.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were called to reports of a man with a knife on Stonehouse Street, Plymouth, at around 12.35pm today, Thursday 12 February.

"It was further reported that a man had been involved in an altercation with a group of other men and had been assaulted.

"One person sustained minor injuries.

"Officers attended the scene.

"Three men have been arrested on suspicion of assault. They remain in police custody.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
