Thousands flock to one of the country's biggest one-day agricultural shows

The animals are being prepared to impress as more than 20,000 people are descending on Honiton for the annual one-day show.

It celebrates farming, local produce and rural skills and is always held on the first Thursday in August.

It started in 1890 and has since grown to be one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the country, with the strapline "Where Farming Comes First.”

The show is held in the heart of the East Devon Countryside on a 140 acre site which was purchased by the Honiton & District Agricultural Association in 2003.
