Person dies after being hit by train at St Budeaux Victoria Road station
Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious
A person has died after being hit by a train at St Budeaux Victoria Road railway station in Plymouth.
Police were called to the station at 8:06pm last night (Sunday 13th September) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics also attended, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
What police have said
Officers say the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A file is being prepared for the coroner.
The person is believed to have been struck by a train.
Rail disruption
The incident caused disruption to local rail services, including those run by Great Western Railway (GWR), for several hours.
GWR has said passengers whose journeys were delayed may be able to claim compensation.
