A wooden eagle - sawn off of lectern at a Devon church in a robbery on Monday - has been returned.

Police continue to investigate the theft of the sculpture from St Paul's in Yelverton.

The West Dartmoor Mission Community: "It is with very great joy that I can tell you all, the eagle has been returned.

"After an anonymous phone call I have been able to collect it from being dumped outside a house near to St Paul's Church, Yelverton.

"Thank you to everyone who has helped to recover it, posted and shared information, and have been in touch with us here, we are very grateful.

"The Police are still interested in any information folk might have about this incident so if you can help please call 101 and quote ref 50250119107.
