Train passengers navigating the route between Topsham and Exmouth will face disruptions today (24th February) due to urgent repairs required on the railway line.

The damage, attributed to earlier adverse weather, affects the foundations of the railway and necessitates a full-day closure for repairs by Network Rail.

As a result, train services will not run to and from Exton, Lympstone Commando, Lympstone Village, and Exmouth stations.

Travellers are advised to allocate additional time for journeys to or from these stations.

Trains from Exeter St Davids, Exeter Central, and Topsham are expected to operate as normal.

Several bus routes will accommodate rail ticket holders at no extra cost for journeys in the affected areas.

Stagecoach routes 57, 58, 58A, H, I, and J cover Exeter, Topsham, Exton, Lympstone Commando, Exmouth, Digby & Sowton, Polsloe Bridge, and Newcourt.

Efforts are underway to introduce extra shuttle services between Topsham and Exmouth, though this is reliant on available resources.

For assistance or more information, passengers may speak to station or train staff, utilise platform Customer Help Points, or contact support teams.

Additionally, passengers arriving over 15 minutes late due to train delays or cancellations can claim Delay Repay compensation through GWR's website.
