Police investigating after Dawlish railway worker assaulted

The British Transport Police are investigating after a member of train staff was assaulted at Dawlish Railway station.

Emergency services were called just after 1:30pm on Sunday (October 19) to reports of an assault against a train staff member at Dawlish Railway Station.

The victim was found to be in and out of consciousness.

A 19 year old woman and 22 year old man, both from Plymouth were arrested after being found at a nearby bus stop by local NPT officer PC Miller.

PC Miller was injured during the arrest.

Teignmouth and Dawlish Police have thanked members of the public who assisted by restraining the two suspects and who offered support.

Police said one member of the public sustained injuries from being kicked in the face and they will be nominated for public commendation.

The British Transport Police are asking anyone with information to contact them by texting 61016, quoting reference 274 of 19 October.
