Police appeal for witnesses after fatal crash near Sidmouth

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision near Sidmouth on Monday afternoon (17 November).

Emergency services were called to Under Lane, Harcombe, at around 3.10pm, after reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a black Range Rover.

The pedestrian, a 75-year-old local man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

He died a few hours later.

His next of kin have been informed.

Local road closures were put in place as emergency crews worked at the scene and began initial enquiries.

Officers are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.
