Police appeal for witnesses after three people assaulted in Teignmouth
A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after three people were assaulted in Teignmouth earlier this month.
A man was hospitalised with serious injuries in an unprovoked attack after he came to the aid of his two friends.
Between 1am and 1.30am on Sunday 12th of July, two men and a woman were walking through the town near to the taxi rank in Station Road after a night out when they were assaulted by a man.
According to the police, it was reported they were approached by a man who began acting aggressively towards the woman and then hit one of the men. When the other man tried protect his friends, he fell to the ground and was kicked and stamped on.
The attack is reported to have continued up to the junction of Pound Lane near The Jolie Brise Wetherspoon pub. The injured man, who is in his 30s, was taken to hospital by a taxi driver and treated for a broken arm, jaw, nose and knee, and a fractured cheekbone. The two other victims suffered minor injuries.
Officers would like any witnesses to come forward and are asking for any dashcam footage from taxis or vehicles in the area at the time of the incident.
