Police appeal after collision between car and motorcycle on A38 near Plympton

Police are investigating a serious road traffic collision on the A38 near Plympton and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers were notified of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A38, Plympton, on the approach to Marsh Mills at around 5.30pm on Wednesday (16 September 2026).
The collision involved a white and blue Suzuki motorcycle and a white Mini Cooper.
Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"As a result of the collision, the rider, an 18-year-old local man, was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained injuries which are not thought to be life threatening or life changing. His family have been informed.
"The driver of the car was uninjured and remained at the scene to assist officers with enquiries.
"The road was closed for around an hour whilst the casualty was cared for by paramedics and roads policing and local officers conducted an initial investigation.
"We would like to thank members of the public for their assistance at the scene and their understanding and patience.
"Anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the motorcycle prior to the incident or has any dashcam footage or CCTV and hasn’t already given their details to police, is asked to contact us as soon as possible on 101 or via the police website quoting log number 638 16/09/26."
