Plymouth is today going to the polls for the city's mayoral referendum.

It's after more than 10,000 people signed a petition calling for residents to decide how they want to be governed.

There's 111 polling stations which will remain open until 10pm tonight, with residents asked 'How would you like Plymouth City Council to be run?'

There's two options to choose - either an elected councillor as leader, or an elected mayor.
