Ordnance removed from River Tamar

An ordnance has been removed from the River Tamar.

Police say they were called to Wolseley Road, Plymouth, at 3pm today (19 August), after the discovery of a suspected ordnance, on a mud bank, within the River Tamar, Plymouth.

A 100-metre cordon was put in place, along with several road closures.

The Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Department attended and removed the object, for safe disposal.

All cordons have been lifted.
