Meeting to help better protect major Devon estuaries
It is being held in Teignmouth next month
There's a public meeting to help shape ongoing work to protect the Teign and Exe Estuaries.
It's being organised by the Teign Estuary and Coastal Partnership Forum and will explore everything from 'major coastal rail works and sand movements to hidden wildlife and unique heritage'.
Teignbridge District Councillor Jackie Hook, Executive Member for Environment, Climate and Sustainability said: “We’re proud to host this event and celebrate the dedication of our professional partners, alongside the many local groups and individuals who work together to protect and enhance our coast.
"Whether it’s science, sport, beach cleans, arts projects, or the incredible efforts of local volunteers, the Forum offers something for everyone with an interest in this diverse and special area.
“The Annual Forum is a fantastic opportunity for local people to get involved in coastal management or simply learn more about this unique environment.
"From major railway infrastructure to small estuary improvements that help people access the foreshore and water, we’re excited to highlight current projects and spark new ideas for making the most of our natural resources."
The event takes place on Monday 3 November 2025 from 6.30pm, at the Pavilions, Teignmouth. Led by Teignbridge District Council, the Teign Estuary and Coastal Partnership coordinates the management of the Teign Estuary and the open coast between Dawlish Warren and Torbay. It brings together statutory agencies, alongside other local organisations. Â
