Man taken to hospital after stabbing reported in Exeter

Police are seeking witnesses to the serious assault on Clifton Hill

Police are looking for witnesses following a stabbing in Exeter last night.

The incident was reported at around 10.40pm on Clifton Hill, and involved a man in his 50s who was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

His next of kin have been informed.

A 49-year-old man from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody.

The scene has being guarded by officers around the Newtown area, with the neighbourhood team conducting local foot patrols throughout the day.
