A man has sustained life-threatening injuries after a collision in Exeter today (October 3).

Emergency services were called to Stoke Road just before 8.40am following the single-car collision involving a blue Ford Fusion.

The driver, a 45-year-old man from Tiverton, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

The road was closed for around five-and-a-half hours for investigative work and for the car to be recovered.

Roads policing officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the condition and appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

They would also like to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam footage.
