Detectives believe people who attended Tar Barrels event may have vital footage
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and video footage after a man was seriously assaulted in Ottery St Mary.
The incident happened at around 12.30am on Thursday 6th November on Broad Street, following reports of an altercation.
One man sustained serious head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The area had been busy with people who had attended the town’s Tar Barrels event earlier that evening.
Detective Constable Jordan Pearce said: “There were still a lot of people in the area who had attended the Tar Barrels event, and it is possible that videos were captured of the incidents at the time.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have captured any video footage to come forward as they may have evidence that would support our investigation.”
A 53-year-old man and a 49-year-old man, both from Ottery St Mary, were arrested in connection with the assaults.
Both men have been released on bail as enquiries continue.
