Man killed in motorcycle crash in Plympton

Devon and Cornwall Police has referred itself to the watchdog following the incident

A man has died in a motorcycle collision in Plympton.

A black Nissan car and a blue Suzuki motorbike collided on Boringdon Hill at around 1.40pm on Saturday (13 December)

The rider of the motorbike, a 23-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The occupants of the car were not injured.

The road was closed while officers examined the scene.

Devon and Cornwall Police has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), due to previous police contact.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
