A Devon man has been arrested on suspicion of making an explosive substance with intent to endanger life and attempted arson with intent to endanger life.

The 31 year old has been released on police bail until March.

Police are still investigating an incident on Christmas Eve in which two cars were found alight in Great Meadow in Cranbrook.

A number of homes were evacuated as a precuation and the Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts were called to the scene.
